LISD Recognized as Campus Crime Stoppers District of the Year
Lumberton ISD has been recognized as the Campus Crime Stoppers District of the Year by Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas. The Campus Crime Stoppers program helps prevent dangerous and potentially life-threatening situations from occurring among student populations on and off campus.
Crime Stoppers provides students an opportunity to help their school, community, and peers by discreetly reporting suspicious behavior or criminal activity.
"The diligent work of our middle school and high school administration teams following up on each and every one of the hundreds of Crime Stopper tips that came through is what made the program successful," said Travis Edgerton, Lumberton High School Principal.
Campus Crime Stoppers allows students to proactively become part of the school safety solution and ensure youth who are at-risk receive services they need.
A special thank you goes out to Lumberton PD, LISD principals, LISD students, Tim Lane, LISD Director of Safety and Security, Dr. Igor Gusyakov, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, and the Crime Stoppers Program for their work to keep our students, staff, and community safe.
