Understanding Our A–F Accountability Rating
Lumberton ISD and its individual campuses are rated annually by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) using an A–F letter grade system. Designed to provide transparent insight into student success, this statewide accountability system measures performance across three key areas:
- Student Achievement: Evaluates what students know and can do based on STAAR test results, high school graduation rates, and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) metrics.
- School Progress: Tracks individual student academic growth year-over-year and measures relative performance compared to similar campuses across Texas.
- Closing the Gaps: Focuses on educational equity to ensure all student groups including special education, English learners, and economically disadvantaged students are meeting state standards.
The overall grade is calculated by combining our highest score between Student Achievement or School Progress (70%) with our Closing the Gaps score (30%).

Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR)
The Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) is an annual, comprehensive report published by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) that details the performance of students in Lumberton ISD and across every campus in our district.
While the A–F Accountability System provides an overall letter grade snapshot, the TAPR provides an in-depth, itemized look at:
- Academic Performance: STAAR test results broken down by grade, subject, and student demographic groups.
- Postsecondary Readiness: College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes, SAT/ACT participation, and high school completion rates.
- District & Campus Profiles: Comprehensive data on staff experience and demographics, class sizes, student enrollment, and financial information.
📊 Access TAPR Data: You can view complete, downloadable TAPR reports for Lumberton ISD and our individual schools on the TEA TAPR Portal or through our district administration office.
State School Report Cards, Federal Report Cards & LISD Annual Report
Lumberton ISD provides several annual reports to give our community a complete picture of district and campus progress. The State School Report Cards (SRC) combine data from the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) and state accountability ratings to summarize academic achievement and school progress for every campus. In addition, federally required Federal Report Cards outline student performance, teacher qualifications, and federal indicator targets under ESSA. Finally, in accordance with Texas Education Code §39.306, Lumberton ISD compiles and publishes a comprehensive District Annual Report following a public presentation to our local school board, which incorporates state performance data, campus objectives, safety metrics, and postsecondary enrollment tracking.
